You didn't always look like you were enjoying your presidency, but I hope your retirement is enjoyable and productive. You've earned it, perhaps more than any other president in decades.
I didn't always agree with your policies or actions, but there were far more positives than negatives in my opinion. In the end, although the media and historians will never admit it, yours will have been a successful presidency.
Thank you.

Positives? Shume mistake, shurely?
Seriously, I'm curious. What do you consider positive Acts of Bush?
Wow, an actual comment! That's probably a first for this blog - too bad it was on a (rare) political post...
Yes, positives. Don't agree with everything he did (as I mentioned), but his general tax cutting policy and the original formation of the Bush Doctrine (with respect to terrorist-supporting countries) are both easy positives. Sure, there were negatives - he didn't wield his veto pen nearly often enough in his first term (especially with respect to out-of-control spending), and while I don't agree with the "Bush lied, Iraqis died" meme from the left, I don't particularly think the Iraq War was one that needed to be done at that time. Eventually, yes, it had to be done, and I'm happy overall with the position we've reached so far, but I don't think it had to be done right then at the expense of Afghanistan.
As a said, on the whole for me, the positives outweigh the negatives. He has my gratitude. I sincerely hope I feel the same way about Obama in four years.
Oh, and I meant to ask...
A "mistake" to think there were positives? Does that mean, in your opinion, that there was nothing positive to come from the Bush administration?
